How does the game Planet Blirp work?

A group of astronauts that you're part of was sent to Planet Blirp, apparently uninhabited, to investigate a possible source of natural resources. You'll be totally surprised when you find a hostile life form that communicates with beeping sounds, you can only shoot them and hope to get out of this sudden war alive!
