How does the game Magic Defender Level Pack work?

The monsters want to take over your castle, so they're walking on the road that leads them to you and to ending your domain. If you don't want this to happen, you have to position cannons along the road and use your skills to finish off waves of enemies. It's truly one of the most difficult strategy games we've ever tried.
